The Paradox Institute is an initiative for future-oriented education in Switzerland. It supports young people who are entering a job market that changes faster than traditional education can prepare them for.

Why does the Paradox Institute exist?

The world is shifting faster than our traditional education systems can adapt. The Paradox educational program is designed to bridge the gap between education and the future workforce.

  • Job profiles are changing or dissolving faster that we think
  • Competencies have become more important than job titles
  • Young people must learn to orient themselves, adapt, and actively shape change
  • Future skills such as resilience, critical thinking, and learning agility are becoming more and more essential

Our VisionA place for learners, students, and founders who want to shape their own future with both mind and hand. Our mission is to empower a generation to navigate an ambiguous, fast-changing world with confidence, not only anticipating the future, but to actively drive change.

“The Future-Oriented Generalist”

We are convinced that bridging different disciplines and perspectives is essential for developing the systemic and learning agility required to shape change in a meaningful way.

As future-oriented generalists, our students recognize that diverse, transdisciplinary experiences are crucial sources of inspiration to meet tomorrow's challenges. Our curriculum challenges them to question outdated assumptions and explore the complex interconnections of our modern world. We move them beyond passive learning, enabling them to craft unique worldviews and lead as the architects of tomorrow.

They will not only be equipped with the methodical resources to manage complexity but also possess the ethical compass and creative courage to actively co-shape economy and society. They remain capable of action in dynamic environments independent of specific disciplines or shifting career paths.

Our Manifesto1 – The future is our collective project, our shared responsibility.

2 – Experience is the key to understanding.

3 – Diversity of perspective is the source of renewal.

4 – The new unfolds through the collective imagining of the future.

5 – Paradoxes are the raw material for change.

6 – Mind and hand think better together.

Our Approach The Paradox Institute uses a transdisciplinary approach built on three pillars: Futures Thinking, Systemic Understanding, and Self-Efficacy & Creative Agency.

The Paradox Institute uses a transdisciplinary approach built on three pillars:

  • Probing (Experimenting): We believe in "thinking with your hands". Participants learn through creative problem-solving and transdisciplinary collaboration, turning abstract ideas into tangible reality. Creative Agency focuses on understanding one’s values, reflecting on personal direction, and taking responsibility.
  • Unlimiting (Learning Agility)
We help young adults to unlearn outdated patterns, strengthen their creative confidence and expand their sense of possibility. Through futures thinking and perspective shifts, they learn to understand change, navigate uncertainty, and explore alternative pathways forward with a sense of what is truly possible.
  • Unpacking (Self-Efficacy)
True agency begins with the self. We focus on self-reflection and ethical awareness, helping young adults define their own purpose.  This internal "compass" helps participants stay grounded, confident, and capable of making effective decisions in rapidly evolving environments.
  • Probing (Creative Agency)
We encourage learning by doing. We believe in "thinking with your hands". Through creative problem‑solving and transdisciplinary collaboration, participants turn ideas into tangible reality. This hand-on approach builds the courage, confidence, values, and practical skills needed to shape their own path.
